Woman arrested in Auburn Penguin Point fire

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A woman is now in custody following a fire and alleged burglary at the Penguin Point restaurant on W. Seventh Street.

Auburn Police have arrested 26-year-old Jessica Sweitzer after several tips and through collecting evidence in their investigation.

Police were called out to the restaurant around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday morning after someone reported smoke coming from the building. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. However, police determined that someone forced their way into the building and intentionally set the fire in the middle of the restaurant.

Sweitzer is facing arson and burglary charges.
