Woman Gets 4 years, Will Testify in Warrick County Slaying

BOONVILLE, Ind. (AP) – A southwestern Indiana woman has been sentenced to four years on electronic monitoring after pleading guilty to assisting a criminal in the death of a man whose body was found at a power plant.

Twenty-four-year-old Jade Stigall of Boonville was sentenced Tuesday in Warrick Superior Court.

A plea agreement called for Stigall to testify in the cases of co-defendants David Lackey and Mat McCallister. They are awaiting trial for murder in the slaying of 35-year-old Joseph Nelson of Martinsville. Nelson's body was found Feb. 17, 2014, at the Alcoa power plant in Warrick County.

Investigators say Stigall and three others met Nelson at an Evansville hotel and then drove to the power plant, where Nelson was shot in the back of the head.
