Woman Receives Additional 3-Month Sentence for Beating her Son

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): A woman has been sentenced to an additional 3 months in jail for beating her son.

In August, 28-year-old Tamekia Neal began yelling at her 10-year-old son after he came home from playing basketball with his sibling. She then proceeded to pick him up by his hair, grab his throat, and pin him against a brick wall, according to a witness.

According to the Journal Gazette, she was arrested and fought with officers. Neal plead guilty in September and was given a 4-year sentence on charges including battery to a person under the age of 14 and resisting law enforcement. Three of those years would be on probation.

On Friday, Neal was sentenced an additional 90 days in jail.
