WOWO Fire Drill a Huge Success

Fort Wayne school students will got a safety lesson today that their grandparents may have followed, decades ago. It’s a drill that’s steeped in tradition, something WOWO is proud to have been a part of for 66 years now. This year, students at Deer Ridge Elementary hosted the drill and made the mock “9-1-1” emergency call… and then pulled the fire alarm. That alarm was broadcast LIVE to schools throughout Fort Wayne via WOWO. At which point, students evacuated their respective schools and accounted for one another, as they’ve been trained to do for more than 6 decades.
