Wreck in Warsaw Leaves Man in Critical Condition

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): A severe wreck on the west edge of Warsaw leaves a man in critical condition.

Warsaw police say 64 year old Lester Hamel of Kimmell was hurt after his pickup truck collided with a semi truck at about noon Monday.

Hamel was traveling on eastbound U.S. 30 on the outskirts of Warsaw and was trying to turn left across the westbound lanes when witnesses say the semi hit him.

Hamel was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital with back and internal injuries. The driver of the semi refused medical treatment and only had minor injuries.

Traffic was delayed for hours as the crash was investigated.
