FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — The YLNI Farmers Market on Barr Street has a new mayor, and she’s only five months old.

Pebbles, a golden retriever, was elected Saturday as the market’s newest Mayor of the Market. Her campaign slogan was “No Sticks Gets Left Behind.”

Pebbles’ campaign manager and owner, Samantha Andryk, says the new mayor plans to spend her year visiting local events, enjoying live music and making trips to Tom’s Food Truck for pup cups.

Spike will serve as Pebbles’ Deputy Mayor.

The YLNI Farmers Market is also asking Fort Wayne residents to help it win another title. After being voted the number one farmers market in Indiana for the past four years, YLNI is now competing for the top spot nationally.
