FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Officials gave a sneak peak to the historic 50th anniversary season of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.

Crews are busy getting old favorites ready and finalizing renovations to new exhibits.  While there's a new baby Sumatran Orangutan in the Indonesian Rain Forest, the Australia Adventure is getting much of the attention.

Visitors will be treated to a updated aquarium area called The Reef.  Next door, Stingray Bay is being prepped for a summer opening. Some other features include more seating at the Tree Tops Cafe and a new pavilion for guests near the African Adventure.

As part of the anniversary, they'll host a birthday party July 1 and be honored during the Three Rivers Festival Parade July 11.
