18-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Shot in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Police say an 18-year-old was fatally shot in the head while riding a bicycle on a South Bend street.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide unit has identified the victim of the shooting as Nathan Hall. Officers investigating gunfire about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday found Hall on a street in a neighborhood on the city's northwest side. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say an autopsy confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound. No arrests have been made. Police asked for the public's help in identifying possible suspects.

The shooting comes a week after a 2-year-old boy was killed by a stray bullet from a gunfight between two groups. No arrests have been made in that shooting.
