Matthew Jerome, of Fort Wayne was convicted of abusing Sparkle the cat last summer. As of today, he’s received a three-year prison sentence. He’ll serve one year behind bars and two years were suspended. You may recall, Jerome burned the kitten’s paws and tried lighting her whiskers on fire.  Sparkle has fully recovered from her injuries and has since been adopted by a Fort Wayne woman.
