(Jeff Bowman/21 Alive)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One man is in critical condition after a major crash Tuesday morning on the city’s northeast side.

Around 7 a.m., crews responded to the incident that closed down the intersection of SR 37 and Notestine Road. They say a man driving a van westbound on Notestine Road failed to stop at SR 37. He was then struck by a southbound semi. Jeff Bowman with our partners in news at 21 Alive says the driver of the van was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The victim was not carrying any passengers in the van, and no other injuries have been reported at this time. Police continue to investigate.
