FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Heat and humidity will build across the region starting on Wednesday and by Thursday and Friday, heat index readings could be among the hottest of the year, near 105 degrees.

Officials say staying indoors as much as possible, staying hydrated, and wearing loose-fitting light clothes are all ways to stay safe and cool.
