FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Gas prices in Fort Wayne dropped by more than 21 cents per gallon over the past week, according to GasBuddy.

The average price of gasoline in Fort Wayne stands at $3.83 per gallon Monday, down 21.1 cents from a week ago. Despite the decline, prices remain 47.9 cents higher than a month ago and 60.5 cents higher than this time last year.

GasBuddy’s survey of 201 Fort Wayne stations found prices ranging from $3.74 to $3.99 per gallon Sunday. Across Indiana, reported prices ranged from $3.29 to $4.59 per gallon.

The national average also declined slightly over the past week, falling 1.6 cents to $4.42 per gallon. That’s nearly 36 cents higher than a month ago and $1.34 higher than a year ago.

GasBuddy says some of the largest declines have occurred in the Great Lakes region following the restart of a major refinery. Nearby, prices are averaging $3.87 per gallon in South Bend, $4.26 in Toledo and $4.71 in Kalamazoo.

The national average price of diesel fell 4.1 cents over the past week to $6.449 per gallon.

One year ago, Fort Wayne drivers were paying an average of $3.23 per gallon.
