A local leader has diedd.

Decatur City Councilman Charlie Cook passed this morning according to officials with the city.

He held office since 2004. He's being remembered as a devoted family man. He is a former city and county police officer for more than 40 year.

Decatur Mayor John Schultz called Cook “a great friend and a genuine person.”
