FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) – Some Fort Wayne residents are looking for ways to save the buildings on General Electric's shuttered complex that once boasted 10,000 workers.

Former Fort Wayne city urban designer Tom Cain tells The News-Sentinel http://bit.ly/1Gdy0ip ) the group is using exterior reviews and historical records to piece together what the buildings were like.

The complex dating to 1911 covers some 32 acres. The company once had more than 10,000 workers in Fort Wayne.

A member of the group plans to visit the former Studebaker plant in South Bend to see redevelopment efforts there.
