INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): First Lady Karen Pence has awarded grant money to some area organizations.

The money is going to charities that help Hoosier families and children across the state. 

Allen County charities recieving grants include Euell Wilson Center, Christ Child Society of Fort Wayne, the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank of Fort Wayne and the McMillen Center for Health Education. 

The Gene Stratton-Porter Memorial Society in Rome City is also getting grant money. 

A total of $23,500 is being split among 31 organizations.
