An Early Spring Followed By Drought-Like Conditions Has Led To A Resurgence Of Fireflies On Both Sides Of The Michigan State Line

NORTHERN INDIANA, (WOWO) — Ben Pfeiffer of the Firefly Conservation and Research group warns that despite this surge, the overall population is declining, and current numbers may be the best we’ll see.

Michigan is currently home to a significant population of 15 firefly species as summer begins.
