LaPORTE, Ind. (AP): A northern Indiana man convicted on aggravated battery for stabbing a woman 34 times during an argument over money has been sentenced to 19 years in prison. Reports say 27-year-old James Frederick Smith III of Michigan City had been convicted on two counts of felony aggravated battery. Court documents say the woman suffered punctured lungs and other injuries in the May 2011 attack.
