Bristol Indiana Mobile Home Fire Kills Man and Woman

BRISTOL, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say a 67-year-old woman and her 42-year-old son were killed in a mobile home fire in northern Indiana.

The Elkhart Truth reports the bodies of Cindy Kabay and Chad Russell were found near the entrance of the home in Bristol, about 10 miles east of Elkhart. Fire crews were called to the Timberbrook Mobile Home Park shortly after 7 a.m.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department says an investigation into the cause of the fire has begun, but says an initial survey did not indicate any suspicious activity.

Another of Kabay's sons, Bob Chupp, says his mother had lived at the home for about 20 years. Chupp says Russell, his half-brother, had moved into the home recently to help care for their mother.
