Ind. House Backs Study of Teen Sexual Assaults

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana House is backing a plan to study the number of teen sexual assaults and rapes in the state. House members voted unanimously Wednesday in favor of the measure sought by Democratic Rep. Christina Hale of Indianapolis. Hale has spent much of the session trying to raise awareness about the large number of sexual assaults in the state. The committee tasked with studying the issue would examine the causes of the crimes, including who commits them and where they are committed. Hale said the state suffers from under-reporting of assaults.
