SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – A county prosecutor has been given the state police report from an investigation of whether city employees did work at the home of the South Bend mayor's chief of staff.

State Police Sgt. Trent Smith tells the South Bend Tribune (http://bit.ly/1xxL1Oj ) the report was submitted to the St. Joseph County prosecutor's office in early December. The investigation began in September following photographs an administration critic says shows city employees working on Kathryn Roos' patio. 

Roos has said she hired a private contractor for home improvements and that she never asked or instructed a city employee to work on the project. 

Mayor Pete Buttigieg (BOO'-tah-juhj) says he has full confidence in Roos and that the city has cooperated fully in the investigation.
