FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is charged with criminal recklessness and battery after shooting at some people sitting in a car last week.

22-year-old Alonzo Haney Jr. allegedly got out of his car in the middle of the street last Monday on Werling Drive, a couple of blocks south of McMillen Park Golf Course, pointed a 45-caliber handgun at a car parked in a nearby driveway, and fired off more than 17 shots.

Two men were in the car at the time, according to the News-Sentinel, but weren’t hurt. A man sleeping in a nearby home was hit by two stray rounds.

Haney fled the scene but was caught by New Haven police soon after when he was pulled over for speeding.
