Two hurt in drunk driving crash

LIGONIER, Ind. (WOWO): Two people were hurt in a drunk driving crash in Noble County last night.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department tells WOWO News the crash happened at US 6 and Rochester Road in Ligonier just before 10:30pm, when an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and hit a westbound vehicle head-on.

Both drivers had to be pulled from their cars by rescue crews. A 52-year-old Kendallville man had to be airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital for injuries to his torso and legs, while a 25-year-old Valparaiso woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
