Warsaw man accused of hitting 2-year-old with belt

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): A Warsaw man was arrested this week after police say he hit a 2-year-old with a belt multiple times.

Devan Bounds, 23, was arrested on preliminary charges of battery to a person younger than 14, battery causing moderate bodily injury and obstruction of justice, according to the Journal Gazette.

Police say Bounds was watching the child while her mother was at work on Monday. He’s accused of hitting the girl with a belt multiple times.

The girl’s aunt called police after she noticed welts and lacerations to the girl’s back and buttocks.

Bounds was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
