FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne city council members have outlined a plan for more Electric Works funding.

The News-Sentinel reports Councilmen John Crawford and Geoff Paddock outlined a proposal Friday afternoon during a news conference at Citizens Square.

The pair will present a resolution at Tuesday night’s council meeting that calls for $13.6 million in loans and grants from the city’s Legacy Fund. It would also call for $3 million in economic development income taxes.

The Electric Works project, on the site of the former GE campus, has already received a $50 million tax credit by the Indiana Economic Development Commission. It also has received $55 million in New Market Credits.

The mixed use project on the site of the former GE campus includes 39 acres, 18 buildings, and 1.2 million square feet of space for commercial and residential development.
