NORTHEAST INDIANA, (WOWO) – Indiana Michigan Power crews have restored power for about half of its customers who lost it during Monday night’s ice storm, but their work is far from over.

The company expects complete restoration by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, as more than 10,000 Indiana customers are still without power, and approximately 3,500 Michigan customers are still waiting for restoration.

Estimated times of restoration by area include:

  • Southwest Michigan: 3 p.m. Wednesday
  • Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana: 8 p.m. Wednesday
  • South Bend/Elkhart: 11:59 p.m. Wednesday

High winds are forecast for Tuesday night, and could lead to additional outages.

I&M urges the public to be cautious of downed power lines, and to report them by calling 800-311-4634.
