Allen County wages rise higher than national average

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County workers are getting paid a little more lately.

Statistics released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that Allen County workers’ wages rose faster than the national average late last year, according to the Journal-Gazette.

Weekly wages increased on average by 4.4 percent nationally, 5.3 percent in Indiana and 7.3 percent in Allen County.

Allen County’s ranking is 24th out of a list of the country’s 343 largest counties. It’s also Allen County’s highest wage growth in 15 years.

However, overall wages in Allen County are just 80 percent of the national average.
