DELPHI, Ind. (WOWO) — Attorneys for convicted murderer Richard Allen are challenging his murder conviction regarding the deaths of Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi back in 2017.

In a 24-page motion filed this week, they claim Allen’s conviction should be vacated.

Allen’s defense team says they’ve filed a motion to correct key errors in the case.

They are contesting the murder timeline, the validity of Allen’s safekeeping order, a confession from a different suspect, and disputed phone evidence.

They argue that procedural deficiencies and new evidence could have a significant impact on the case, potentially leading to a different outcome at a new trial.

The defense also raises concerns about the involvement of another suspect, Ron Logan, whose confession could clear Allen of any wrongdoing.

Logan died in January 2022.

They are also claiming that the headphone jack on Libby German’s phone raises questions about the state’s timeline and narrative.
