Area Hospitals Named in Joint Commission “Top Performers” Report

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne area is strong when it comes to healthcare.

That's according to a new report by the Joint Commission. Their annual list of “Top Performers on Key Quality Measures” was released online this week, and lists ten area hospitals – five owned by Lutheran Health Network, five owned by Parkview Health – among the best in the industry. The list takes a look at more than four dozen categories, with a focus on improving the quality and safety of healthcare. 

Honored were: Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Dupont Hospital, Huntington Memorial Hospital, Kosciusko Community Hospital, the Orthopedic Hospital, Parkview Hospital, Parkview Wabash Hospital, Orthopedic Hospital at Parkview North, St. Joseph Hospital, and Whitley Memorial Hospital.
