Area Residents Win at Hoosier Lottery Show

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Area residents walked away with big money from the Hoosier Lottery's Millionaire Championship Show.

Rick Rhodes of Kokomo walked away with the top prize of $250,000. Rhodes turned down a chance to go for $1 million dollars.

Winners from six shows in Fort Wayne, Evansville, Terre Haute, New Albany, Elkhart and Indianapolis.

New Haven's Dave Dieringer and LuAnn Kissinger of North Webster both won $19,000. Jack Binkley of Wolcottville won $5,000.

The program was taped August 6 at the Indiana State Fair and will air Saturday around the state.

The Hoosier Millionaire Championship TV show marks the 25th anniversary of the original Hoosier Millionaire TV show that aired from 1989 to 2005. The show is scheduled to air Saturday.

Lottery officials say during the show's 16-year run, 191 millionaires were created.
