Arrest Linked to Body Found Along Lafayette Highway

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) – An Indianapolis man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found along a highway in Lafayette.

Tippecanoe County Jail records show that 42-year-old William Paz was arrested on preliminary charges including assisting a criminal involving murder and failure to report a dead body. The Journal & Courier reports Lafayette police say the arrest of Paz is related to the body spotted the morning of Christmas Day along U.S. 52 on the city's southeast side.

The county coroner has ruled the death a homicide, but hasn't yet identified the man or released a cause of death.

Lafayette Police Chief Patrick Flannelly tells WLFI-TV that the investigation is ongoing.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Paz had a defense attorney.
