Attorney for Brandon Woody Requests Venue Change for Murder Trial

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An attorney for a Syracuse man being charged with two counts of murder, has requested a venue change for his client.

Scott Lennox, attorney for 23-year-old Brandon Woody, filed the motion to change the venue from Kosciusko County Thursday morning. The venue change was requested to avoid the possibility of an unfair trial in Kosciusko County. If the request is not granted, Lennox said it's going to be hard finding 14 people who are not already prejudiced against Woody during jury selection.

Woody is charged in the shooting deaths of 19-year-old Joshua Knisley and 23-year-old Tara Thornburg.

Knisley and Thornbug were both shot in the head in Thornburg's Syracuse home February 19th. Knisley pronounced dead on the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. Thornburg was also shot in the head, but taken to the hospital where she later on died. Before succumbing to her injuries, Thornburg told police Woody was the shooter.
