Big Fundraising Divide Between Henry, Harper

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If success were measured by the amount of cash you have in the bank, then Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry is easily beating Republican challenger Mitch Harper.

The Democrat filed his pre-election financial report last Friday, showing a gap between his campaign cash and Harper's of just over $930,000. Henry has over $402,000 left of the $1.16-million total he's raised, compared to $77,000 remaining of Harper's nearly $230,000.

Harper tells the News-Sentinel he's pleased with what he's been able to do, saying more donations just means more government activity. Henry's campaign says their intake is a sign of how well a job Henry has done in office.

The mayoral election is November 3rd.
