Board Approves Utility Deal

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Just a few hurdles before the City's deal to purchase Aqua Indiana is finalized.

Fort Wayne's Board of Public Works approved the $67 million plan yesterday. The plan now moves to City Council were it is expected to be approved next month. That's according to the Journal-Gazette.

In 2008, the city paid $16.9 million for the Aqua Indiana's facility in northern Fort Wayne, it will pay $50 million for the utility companies operation in southwest Allen County.

The city will use a $63 million dollar loan to pay for the Aboite township facility and the cost of connecting to the city's service.

Indiana's Utility Regulatory Commission must still approve the agreement.
