OHIO, (WOWO) — Senator Jon Husted of Ohio is taking aim at AI with a new bill designed to protect kids online.

The Children Harmed by AI Technology Act, or CHAT Act, would require AI chatbot platforms to block sexually explicit content for minors and enforce strict age verification.

Husted says the bill is about helping parents keep their children safe while still allowing Americans to benefit from AI.

The measure would also require parental consent before minors can access AI companion bots.
