City Warming Shelters to Stay Open Over Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Although officials with The National Weather Service says Fort Wayne will be seeing warmer temperatures over the weekend, The City of Fort Wayne has announced that warming stations will continue to be available. Those in need of a warm place to stay can visit the following:


  • The Salvation Army, 2901 N. Clinton St., will open as a warming station/overnight shelter beginning at noon today. The facility will remain open until further notice.

    Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St., will be open as a warming station/overnight shelter from 6 p.m. this evening until 8 a.m. Saturday.

    The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department’s Community Center, 233 W. Main St., will reopen as a warming station/overnight shelter at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
