Construction investment surpasses $1 billion in Allen County

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Construction investment in Allen County has surpassed $1 billion for the second straight year.

The Allen County Building Department says building permits issued from Jan. 1 through Nov. 28  totaled $1.015 billion. Commercial permits totaled $586.8 million while residential permits came in at $428.4 million.

The valuation of building permits in 2017 totaled $1.032 billion, which was the first time permits surpassed the billion dollar mark.

“This is a really, really great feat and shows the momentum that’s been built, shows the great things that are happening in the Allen County community,” said Commissioner Nelson Peters.
