Crews Battle Early Morning Fire on Monroe St.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Just after 3:30 Sunday morning, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to a structure fire on S. Monroe Street. Once on the scene, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from three sides of the house. They worked to extinguish the blaze from the outside, and had it under control in less than an hour. No one was home at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. The home sustained heavy smoke, water, and fire damage. Its cause is still under investigation.
