Decatur Among Six Cities Competing to Participate in Stellar Communities Program

DECATUR, Ind. (WOWO): Each year, the state's Stellar Communities Program provides two communities with the opportunity to align federal funding with local public and private investment in a targeted area of the community. Decatur has announced it's proposing a four-year, $21 million plan that features downtown revitalization projects including a trail extension, downtown streetscape improvements, and artist loft housing. Planned complementary projects are also in the works, bringing a total investment of $39 million into Decatur's downtown. Stellar Program Awards will be announced in August.
