Deputy hospitalized after striking deer

WELLS COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Wells County Sheriff’s deputy is recovering after a crash involving a deer Wednesday morning.

The deputy was driving eastbound on State Road 218 when his SUV struck a deer at around 7:40 a.m.

He was transported to Bluffton Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The Indiana State Police assisted after the crash.
