Drivers Save Man in Sinking Car

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Some ordinary passersby ended up heroes in Adams Township Wednesday…

It all started when a man driving home from work lost control of his car on Hessen Cassel near the Maples Road intersection, and drove into a pond. Moments later, a group of people driving by pulled over and got the man – who apparently can't swim – out of the car as it went under, by throwing him a rope and pulling him to safety.

The Journal Gazette reports the man was taken to a hospital for treatment, but police don't yet know what caused him to drive off the road in the first place.
