Environmentalists to Holiday Tree Buyers: Go Green

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP): Indiana Christmas tree buyers are being urged to go green this holiday season.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management says residents can help the environment and the economy by buying Indiana-grown Christmas trees instead of artificial ones.

IDEM spokesman Dan Goldblatt tells says that real trees can be recycled and continue to absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen even after they're cut as long as they have fresh water.
