Fever Planning Tribute for Lauren Hill on June 14

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The WNBA's Indiana Fever will honor the late Lauren Hill at their June 14 game against Chicago.

Team officials made the announcement Thursday.

Hill grew up in Greendale, Indiana, in the southeastern corner of the state. She inspired millions by playing for Mount St. Joseph, a Division III school in Cincinnati, as she battled terminal brain cancer. The 19-year-old Hill died April 10.

Her family is expected to attend the game, which is a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finalists. The Cure Starts Now Foundation will receive donatlons from the Fever, the NBA's Pacers and fans. Following the game, fans will be invited to shoot “Layups for Lauren.''

The Fever also named Hill an honorary team member during a Pacers' game last season.
