Final lineup of candidates set for vacated Kosciusko County Sheriff position

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The final lineup of candidates – to replace former Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine – has been set.

The position of Kosciusko County Sheriff was vacated by Rovenstine after he pleaded guilty to intimidation charges back in April 2017.

The deadline to file for the office was Sunday night, 72 hours before a caucus will convene to decide the next sheriff.

The six candidates that have announced their intentions for the position are Indiana State Police Trooper Kyle Dukes, former Warsaw Police Detective Jordan Foreman, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Spangle, Kelly Prater, the assistant director at the Kosciusko County Work Release Center, Louis “Bill” Brown, a former Indiana State Police Commander and Willam “Rocky” Goshert, who has a held the post before and is currently serving as interim sheriff.

The candidates will appear before a caucus to make a three minute pitch as to why they should be Rovesntine’s replacement.

The caucus is set for Wednesday at the Kosciusko County Courthouse.
