Former Teacher Sentenced to Probation for Child Seduction

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A former Woodlan High School teacher will receive three years probation for having a sexual relationship with student.

Twenty-nine-year-old Paige Mostella of Fort Wayne, admitted to one count of child seduction in January under a plea deal.  Mostella was sentenced to three years in prison, but the term was suspended, according to the Journal-Gazette.

She could have served as much as six months to three years on each of two felony counts of child seduction by child care worker. Mostella was arrested in August on claims she had sex with a 17-year-old student.

She was a special education teacher and assistant track coach at Woodlan High School in Woodburn. The age of consent is 16 in Indiana, but it's illegal for a person in authority to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.
