FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): Two people were arrested yesterday after the Fort Wayne Police Department conducted a drug raid near the downtown area.
After acquiring a search warrant, officers found nearly 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana and THC “wax” inside a home, located off the 1100 block of Elmwood Avenue. Police also discovered a 1-year-old child inside the home, as well as a neglected dog.
22-year-old Carrie Helgesen and 25-year-old Tyler Shea, both from Fort Wayne were arrested on the scene. Both face charges such as marijuana possession, dealing marijuana, and maintaining a common nuisance.
The child is in foster care while police investigate and the dog was taken to Animal Control.
