Fort Wayne Fire Department responds to fire at abandoned house

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Fire Department extinguished a fire at an abandoned home on Sunday morning.

At about 8:13 a.m. Sunday, crews were called to a house in the 3100 block of Banks Avenue on reports of a fire. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the roof of the house, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

It took crews about 25 minutes to extinguish the flames. No body was inside the house at the time of the fire.

Heavy fire, smoke and water damage was done to the house. The fire is currently under investigation.
