Fort Wayne man arrested after beating an officer, police say

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne mas was arrested after police say he beat a police officer earlier this month.

Kevin E. Randolph Jr., 35, was charged with battery, resisting law enforcement, strangulation and intimidation in Allen County Court on Tuesday, according to the News-Sentinel.

On July 20, Randolph’s former girlfriend called police while Randolph was allegedly violating a protective order, police say.

Police say when the officer tried to take him into custody, Randolph hit the officer’s face multiple times. At some point, Randolph is accused of applying a choke hold on the officer. The officer eventually handcuffed him.
