Fort Wayne man caught after escaping from Pierceton Woods Academy

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is in custody for escaping from Pierceton Woods Academy.

An employee told police that 18-year-old Austin Gambler of Fort Wayne escaped into the woods on May 1, according to News Now Warsaw.

Another inmate told the officer that he and Gambler planned to escape and made various weapons out of sticks and the metal from a three-ring binder. The second inmate also said that he decided not to escape but Gambler still did.

Kosciusko County Prosecutor Dan Hampton said that since Gambler is an adult, he should be charged for escape. Gambler was arrested and is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Kosciusko County Jail.
