Fort Wayne man identified in Thursday’s fatal crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man died after a crash on the northwest side of the city Thursday.

Gary Gillion, 62, died in a hospital after he was was involved in a two vehicle crash, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

A car he was driving and a Jeep collided in the intersection of Ludwig and Huguenard roads at about 5:30 p.m.

After the collision, the car went off the road and hit a utility box and pole.

When officers arrived to the crash, both drivers were conscious, but Gillion had to be pulled from his car. He was sent to a hospital, where he died shortly after arriving.

Chief Investigator Michael Burris said his death is still under investigation.
