FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The 2nd dog park in the city is set to open.

Around 150 members of Fort Wayne's first dog park are invited to celebrate a new, 60,000 square foot park at Johnny Appleseed Park. According to the Journal Gazette, the park cost $160,850 to build.

It's separated into three areas, including two fenced-in lots and a open-air picnic area with tables and benches.

The opening is at 7 p.m. Thursday night, and those who attend will receive a free dog bowl.

The park was approved by the Fort Wayne City Council last December. In order to use the park, the Parks and Recreation Department Office offers “Pooch Passes” for $40. Dogs must show proof of vaccinations in order to get a pass, which is good for either dog park in Fort Wayne.
